Junk removal in Cape Coral is priced by volume: how much of a roughly 15-cubic-yard box truck your items fill. That one measurement covers the crew's time, the drive, the loading and the tipping fee at the county facility, which is why a quote can be given from a description and a couple of photos. The table below shows the ranges we work to in 2026.

1/2 truck$375–$525A one-car garage's worth, or a living room plus a bedroom
3/4 truck$525–$700Several rooms, or a kitchen-and-bath remodel's debris
Full truck$650–$875Whole-house and rental cleanouts; more than one load is billed per load

Prices for specific jobs

Some jobs are easier to think about as a single task than as a slice of the truck. These are the ones people ask about most, with the range we would expect for a typical Cape Coral property.

Estimates, not quotes. Reviewed October 9, 2026.
JobEstimated priceWhat moves it
Sofa, sectional or recliner$110–$195Sectionals and sleeper sofas sit at the top
Mattress and box spring$95–$160Each extra set adds a handling fee
Refrigerator or freezer$125–$195Refrigerant handling is included
Washer, dryer or water heater$95–$165Disconnecting a gas line is not something we do
Hot tub or spa$395–$750Above-ground tubs are cut up on site; built-in or deck-set tubs cost more
Shed teardown and haul$450–$1,200Wood or metal, size, and whether there's a slab to leave behind
Playset or swing set$300–$650Wood playsets with forts take longer to break down
Garage cleanout$375–$875Most single-car garages land between half and a full truck
Estate or whole-house cleanout$1,300–$3,500Rooms, attic, sorting for family keepsakes, number of loads
Heavy debris (tile, concrete, roofing)$425–$650 per half loadWeight, not volume, sets the limit
Yard waste or storm debris$225–$525Limb size and whether we cut it down first

Those numbers assume a normal single-family home in the Cape. A third-floor condo with no freight elevator, a gated community that limits truck hours, or a pile that turns out to be twice the size described can all move a job toward the top of the range.

What moves the price on a Cape Coral job

Most quotes are settled by three things: how much there is, how heavy it is, and how hard it is to reach. A few local habits push those in predictable directions.

  • Lanai and pool-cage furniture. Aluminum frames and sling chairs are light but bulky, so a lanai set fills more of the truck than its weight suggests. Broken screen panels and frames often come out at the same time.
  • Weight. Tile, pavers, concrete, roofing and wet carpet hit the truck's weight limit long before they fill it. Those loads are priced by weight, which is why heavy debris has its own line above.
  • Access. A ground-floor garage on a canal lot is quick. An attic over the garage, a second-floor bonus room or a condo hallway adds carrying time, though not as much as most people expect.
  • Specially handled items. Refrigerators, freezers and window AC units carry refrigerant. Mattresses and tires have their own disposal fees. Each is priced as a small add-on rather than hidden in the load.

Junk removal or a dumpster?

Dumpster rental gets searched in Cape Coral almost as often as junk removal, and the two answer different problems. A roll-off dumpster makes sense for a long remodel where debris comes out a little at a time over a week or two. For a one-day clear-out it usually costs more once everything is counted: the rental period, the weight allowance, the tonnage charge if you go over it, and the hours of loading it yourself.

A dumpster also sits on your driveway. On a newer Cape driveway that is a real cost; steel rails on pavers or fresh concrete can leave marks, and many HOAs in the Cape's gated communities have rules on how long one can stay. With a truck, the junk leaves the same hour it is loaded.

Why quotes in Lee County disagree

Ask three haulers for a price and you may get three very different numbers. The gap usually comes from what is and is not in the quote, not from one company being honest and another not.

  • Truck size. One company's "full load" is a 10-yard trailer; another's is a 16-yard box truck. Ask how big the truck is.
  • Disposal fees. Lee County charges haulers by the ton at its facilities. Some quotes include that fee and some add it at the end.
  • Surcharges. Mattress, appliance and heavy-material fees are where a low headline number often grows.
  • Labor. A curbside-only price is cheaper because you did the carrying. Make sure two quotes are pricing the same job.

Our quotes include the truck, two people, the loading, the sweep-up and the county disposal fee. If something on the pile carries an add-on, it is named before the work starts.

Ways to bring the cost down

  • Set aside anything a charity will take. The Habitat for Humanity ReStores in North Fort Myers and Bonita Springs accept furniture and appliances in good condition, and that space then isn't part of your load.
  • Use the city for what it already collects. Cape Coral's curbside service picks up bulk items and bundled yard waste on your regular collection day, within the city's rules.
  • Take paint, solvents and pool chemicals to Lee County's free household chemical drop-off at 6441 Topaz Court in Fort Myers. We can't haul them anyway.
  • Book everything at once. One three-quarter load costs less than three separate quarter-load visits.

Each service page has more detail on its own job: furniture and mattresses, appliances, hot tubs and sheds, garage cleanouts, estate cleanouts and construction and storm debris. We work the same way in Fort Myers, North Fort Myers and Bonita Springs.

Junk removal price questions

Is there a minimum charge?

Yes. The smallest pickup, one bulky item, is priced at about $95–$175. That covers the truck, two people and the disposal fee, which is the same cost to us whether the item is a recliner or a broken grill.

Why does a mattress or a fridge cost extra?

Mattresses are bulky and awkward to dispose of, and a refrigerator or freezer has to have its refrigerant handled before the metal can be recycled. Both carry a handling cost the landfill doesn't charge for a bag of clutter.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. The price is set by how much room your items take in the truck, plus a surcharge only for heavy or specially handled items. A slow carry down a narrow hallway doesn't run up the bill.

Can I get a price without anyone coming out?

Yes. Text or email two or three photos with something for scale and we'll reply with a range. The firm number is confirmed when the crew sees the pile, and it only changes if the pile does.

Do you charge less if I put everything in the driveway?

Sometimes a little, because loading from the driveway is faster. The bigger savings usually come from separating anything a charity will take, so it doesn't count toward your load.
