Furniture is most of what we haul. It is heavy enough that most people can't move it alone, too big for a car, and the wrong shape for the trash can. You point at it, and two of us carry it out. No disassembly needed on your side, and nothing has to be dragged to the curb first.

What we pick up
- Sofas, sectionals, sleeper sofas, loveseats and recliners, including lift chairs
- Mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards and futons
- Dressers, armoires, entertainment centers and bookcases
- Dining tables and chairs, desks and office chairs
- Lanai and patio sets: aluminum frames, sling chairs, glass-top tables, cushions
- Outdoor bars, rattan, hammocks and broken umbrellas
Prices for single pieces
| Item | Estimated price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sofa, loveseat or recliner | $110–$195 | Sleepers and sectionals sit at the top |
| Mattress and box spring | $95–$160 | Extra sets add a handling fee |
| Dresser or armoire | $95–$175 | Solid-wood pieces weigh more |
| Several rooms of furniture | $375–$525 | Priced as a share of the truck |
Estimates only. The ranges are what we'd expect for a typical Cape Coral home. The crew confirms one firm price at the door before carrying anything.
Donate, recycle, or dispose
Furniture in good condition shouldn't go to the landfill, and often it doesn't have to. Before the truck heads to the county facility, pieces that are clean and intact are dropped at local charities, including the Habitat for Humanity ReStores in North Fort Myers and Bonita Springs. Upholstered furniture is the hardest to place: charities generally won't take anything stained, torn or from a home with pets or smoke, so be ready for a sofa to be disposed of even if it still looks fine to you.
Metal frames, aluminum lanai furniture and steel bed rails are separated for scrap. What's left goes to Lee County's solid waste system.
The Florida furniture problem
Outdoor furniture here wears out faster than anywhere people retire from. UV breaks down sling fabric in a few seasons, salt air pits aluminum near the canals, and cushions mildew in the summer humidity. Indoors, a slow AC failure or a roof leak after a storm can leave a sofa smelling of damp for good. That is why a lot of our furniture calls come in bunches: the whole lanai set at once, or every soft piece from one room after water got in.
Moving out or moving in
A lot of furniture calls are really moving calls. The new place in Pelican is smaller, or the house is being sold and the buyer doesn't want the bedroom set. We can come the day before the movers to take what's not going, or the day after to take what the movers left. If you have a mix of furniture and boxes, a garage cleanout or whole-house clear-out may be a better fit, and a dead appliance or two can go on the same truck with our appliance removal.
Furniture removal questions
Will you take a couch from upstairs?
Yes. Two people carry it down, with the stair rail and corners padded. If a sleeper sofa won't make the turn, we can take the frame apart in the room, as long as you're happy for it not to be reused.
Can you take a mattress with bed bugs?
Tell us when you book. We'll ask you to have it sealed in a mattress bag before we arrive, and it goes straight to disposal rather than donation.
Does the city pick up furniture for free?
Cape Coral's curbside service collects bulk items on your regular trash day if they're set out within the city's rules. We're the option when you can't move it to the curb, need it gone today, or have more than a few pieces.
